Alison Spear, AIA , LEED AP, IIDA , lives between New York City and the Hudson River Valley. She formerly operated out of Miami and New York City is presently in the Hudson River Valley working on a transformation of a family farm into a farm based community. Her background is multi-faceted including; architecture, interior architecture, urban design, adaptive re-use, and historic rehabilitation projects.
She is a licensed architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), IIDA, (International Interior Design Association), and is LEED certified. She is a member of the New York Architectural League, the National Council of Registration Boards, (NCARB).
Presently her main focus are modern rural designs for the home sites on Obercreek Farm which are in keeping with both the historic and organic farm contexts.
Received two American Institute of Architects Awards of Excellence and was selected as Interior Design Firm of the year. In 2004, Ms Spear was included as one of the top 125 Interior Designers of the year by House Beautiful Magazine.
She has taught a design studios at Parsons/The New School in New York City and The University of Miami School of Architecture. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University.
